WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY FOR GEORGE FLOYD
The actions that continue to unfold in our country have hurt our community for far too long and are really hitting home here in Minnesota. George Floyd is yet another example of the killing of black men at the hands of the police. The brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha in the District of Minnesota are taking a stand. This page will help house all of our activity and will be constantly updated.
First of all, we have submitted an Open Letter to Key Leaders and Elected Officials asking for the immediate arrest of ALL FOUR OFFICERS in George Floyd's killing. Along with that, the leaders for the five NPHC fraternities have written a statement. We have a voice and we are using it on behalf of the community.
We plan on following this up with a series of calling campaigns to many officials in the state of Minnesota to demand justice.
The communities in North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, and St. Paul have been most affected by the riots and looting happening in the Twin Cities. We want to do our part to help those in need in those communities.
Here is our plan:
Our communities are hurting, resources to help are scarce, and the time to act is now! Our prayers go out to the family and friends of George Floyd, the Black community at large, those on the front lines fighting for justice, our state of Minnesota, and the World. Black Lives Matter, our community matters, and our voice matters!

Here is our plan:
- Provide donations of food, supplies, and essentials to people in those communities
- Volunteer to help clean up the streets where damage has occurred
- Assist the following community distribution sites for the people in those communities
- Unidale Mall Parking Lot (University and Dale in St. Paul)
- U.S. Bank Parking Lot (Broadway and Emerson in Minneapolis)
- Show up "en masse" at community events for community healing and support
- Safeguard and keep everyone aware of the real threat of white supremacist groups in our communities
- Work towards real action for Criminal Justice Reform
- Reach out to our Legislators to hold them accountable
- Activate strongly through Voteless People is a Hopeless People for our communities to provide voter education and registration
